Hello, friends in this article I will tell you the merchant navy qualification details required to join the merchant navy,

there are two sides deck side and engine side mainly but the cook is also considered one part of this merchant navy field and rating cadets.

DECK CADET
ENGINE CADET

Deck side:

In the deck side there are :

master (captain)
chief officer
2nd officer
3rd officer
deck cadet (entry-stage)

Engine side:

In the engine side there are :

chief engineer
2nd engineer
3rd engineer
4th engineer
engine cadet (entry-stage)

12TH PCM 60% ( physics ,chemistry, maths)

English= 50%

IMU CET EXAM EVERY TIME IN A YEAR IN CORONAVIRUS TIME ONLY ONE TIME IS TAKEN BY IMU (INDIAN MARITIME UNIVERSITY)

BUT BEFORE THIS YOU HAVE TO GET SPONSORED BY THE SHIPPING COMPANIES RPSL SHIPPING COMPANIES,

NOWADAYS IT IS COMPALASARY THAT YOU HAVE TO GET SPONSORED BY THE SHI[PING COMPANY RULE BY THE DG SHIPPING WHICH IS BEST FOR YOUR PLACEMENT AND 100% PLACED,

IT COST YOU AROUND 7 LAKH TO 8 LAKH RUPEE FEES OF INSTITUTE WITH SPONSORED FEE,

YOU ARE NOW A DECK CADET YOU ARE READY TO JOIN AS A TRAINEE AS A DECK CADET. YOU WILL RECEIVE SALARY MONEY IN THIS 18 MONTH ONBOARD.

ENGINE SIDE:

SAME IMU CET EXAM YOU HAVE TO APPEAR, AFTER QUALIFYING YOU HAVE TO DO A B.TECH MARINE ENGINEERING COURSE. FOUR YEAR.

NOW WHEN YOU COMPLETE B.TECH YOU ARE NOW ENGINE CADET READY TO BOARD THE SHIP.

COOK:

To join in cook side the courses you have to do is Certificate Course In Maritime Catering this is after 10 the std you can join as a mess boy after experience and getting COC he become a chief cook.

ETO:

for joining ETO (Electro-Technical Officer) you have to have b.tech in electronic after that you have to do a course ETO course from imu affiliate institutes or four-month after that you join as a dresser ETO in the merchant navy qualification required

RATING:

for rating, you have to do a GP rating( GENERAL PURPOSE RATING) course from DG Shipping approved institute after 10th, as an AB you join in merchant navy ship.
